A Quick Reminder for Tax Season Prep

A Quick Reminder for Tax Season Prep

January 26, 2026

With tax season on the horizon, a little preparation now can make the process much smoother later. This time of year often brings plenty of paperwork and deadlines, so consider this a friendly nudge to start gathering what you’ll need.

A great starting point is pulling together the documents related to your return. Common items include W-2s, 1099s, charitable donation receipts, and statements for any investment activity. For a full list, the IRS website offers detailed forms and instructions for reference.¹

If you need to confirm prior-year details—such as AGI or payment history—the IRS also provides transcripts that can be accessed online or requested by mail.² These can be helpful if you’re missing older records or want to double-check past filings.

It’s also a good time to review contributions to retirement accounts, charitable giving, and other financial decisions that may affect your tax picture. If you have questions about documents from our office, like investment account statements, please reach out. I’m happy to assist with anything we have on file for you.

Because tax rules can change from year to year, you may want to consult a qualified tax professional for personalized guidance. My role is to keep you informed, provide investment-related documentation, and help you stay aligned with your long-term financial strategy.

At Riggle Wealth Group, we believe preparation and clarity are essential, especially during tax season. Our team brings strong credentials, diverse perspectives, and a disciplined, research-based approach to help ensure your financial decisions stay aligned with your long-term goals, even as rules and circumstances change. If you’d like a confidential, no-cost conversation to review how your investments, contributions, and overall strategy fit together, I’d be glad to connect. You can email me directly at timohm@rigglewealth.com or call our office at 717-630-1001 to schedule a time to talk.
